Spawning Activity Continues

sturgeon spawning locations As of April 25, sturgeon can now be seen spawning in several locations across the system. Here’s where sturgeon have been seen:

Princeton Dam, Upper Fox River: Sturgeon can be seen spawning.

Sturgeon Trail, New London, Wolf River: Sturgeon are no longer spawning at this location.

Bamboo Bend, Shiocton, Wolf River: Only a few sturgeon can be seen spawning.

Hwy 156: No activity to report.

Shawano Dam, Wolf River: Sturgeon are spawning and are likely to continue spawning tomorrow and through the weekend.

De Pere Dam, Lower Fox River: Some sturgeon have been spotted cruising in and out of the shallows and porpoising downstream from the walleye deck in Voyager Park in De Pere. No sights have been reported by the dam nor are there any sturgeon actively spawning.

Peshtigo Dam, Peshtigo River: Sturgeon can be seen from the Peshtigo River viewing platform and more sturgeon are staging below the Peshtigo Dam.

Sturgeon patterns can change rapidly. Though they may be at one location in the morning, they may not be that evening. As a result, if you’d like to see them at a certain location, make sure you get out and see them soon.

Updates will be made on our sturgeon spawning webpage as changes occur.
